North Wildwood

   More Pictures: 1 | 2 | 3

North Wildwood rests along the northern end of "Five Mile" beach in the extreme southern part of New Jersey. Although located only 125 miles from the hustle and bustle of Washington, DC, when arriving in this small town of 5,000 people, you immediately sense that you have stepped back into the Victorian era. The "Wildwoods" is comprised of three seaside resort communities, each providing its own special characteristics.

For a unique adventure, North Wildwood makes the perfect destination. During the summer months, you will find an abundance of activities such as the Annual Nationals Car Show, Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Craft/Herb Show, Pro Wrestling on the Beach, and Anglesea Blues Festival. Even if planning a trip to North Wildwood during the winter, you will have the opportunity to enjoy activities like the Moscow State Circus, Special Olympics, Surf & Turf Monster Mash, and the Jaycees Christmas Parade.

Keeping with the adventurous spirit, consider staying at the charming Candlelight Inn Bed & Breakfast. Built in 1909, this inn was completely renovated to maintain its authentic Victorian style, complete with a wraparound veranda and antiques that include an 1855 sofa and Eastlake piano. Each room is reminiscent of that era, featuring rich mahogany, walnut, pine, and oak furnishings accented with brass, lace, and oriental rugs. However, "Murder by Candlelight" is when the excitement really begins. From November through April, a group of twelve or more can enjoy a mysterious weekend that includes a fabulous dinner menu and accommodations. You will not be disappointed when visiting North Wildwood.
