The Villas - Wildwood's Quiet Neighbor
Villas Events Calendar | Villas Restaurants | AccomodationsThe tiny village called the Villas is far enough from the crowded beaches, honking cars, and screams from the amusements but still within close enough proximity to such that you will have the best of all worlds – the solitude of a quiet town with the excitement of attractions nearby. The Villas is a neighbor to the Wildwoods, Cape May, and Stone Harbor, allowing you the luxury to enjoy what those shore towns have to offer without actually having to stay there. The Villas beckons to you like an old friend, ready to invite you in for a tall glass of lemonade and a quiet seat on the porch. There is an air of community here and the local folks like the peace. Children ride their bikes and there is little thought to heavy traffic or loud noise, two elements that are far too common in other resort towns. If you are an artist or simply have an appreciation for art, the Aquarian Project is headquartered in the Villas. This organization is dedicated to preserving the work and spirit of Gerald Lynch, a marble sculptor who died in 2000. Perhaps art doesn’t interest you, but nature does. Well, you have come to the right place. The Villas is a great spot to bird watch and more than 400 species have been spotted in the spring and fall. Fishing is also a common pastime and if you cast a line, expect to hook something. Whatever your appetite calls for, you can find it here. There are a number of seafood restaurants available so that you can get your fill of flounder, shrimp and crab. Evenings can be spent cavorting in Wildwood. But when it’s time to turn in, the solitude will remind you why you chose to stay in the Villas. |
