I was in Alfes tonight. We "walked-in" with a party of 10. I did not realize they took reservations. Both hostesses explained that they had outside seating immediatly or we would have a 20/30 minute wait for inside. We waited for an inside table. After about 15 minutes the younger hostess sat us down in a beautiful dining room. I asked her what she ate here and she started laughing. She stated that she ate almost everything but the fish. She recommended the Tuna Jacki. It was the best. My kids loved the chicken parm and raviolis. They even ate the meatballs. I feel that the prices were much cheaper than other italian restaurants in Wildwood and my kids ate. Whats better than that! The Gelato! The hostesses said they buy it from Marcella's in the Crest. Consistantly great! Just went Sat nite and enjoyed everything. The food is always good and in Cape May good food is abundent, but to me, the way the staff greets you (like an old friend) makes Alfe's special. Karen (2/21/2007)
After reading the review below I was skeptical to go to Alfes but my boyfried insisted. Our server, which by the was as Nikki, greeted us and explained all the specials and price changes due to the short supply of certain items. Surf and Turf price was explained as being changed. I did order the surf and turf and thought it was the best in the world. I have no idea what this man was talking about. The prices here are what I expected to pay for quality food. I talked to the manager at the restaurant and told her about the review I read. She said that if the customer had said something at the restaurant she would have taken care of the situation. So anyway all the food, the service and the management were excellent. Great Job Alfes and I will be back  Anthony Smith (1/29/2007)
I live on the island and work in the restaurant business. I haven't been to Alfe's in several years because I hear it is inconsistent. We had a good meal with 2 exceptions. My Surf and Turf was ordered medium but I received it very medium rare to rare. Also, the price indicated it was $41.95. However, when we received the bill, we were charged $45.95. The server said that they changed prices on the computer but not the menu. That is a BIG NO NO in the restaurant or any business. When you have a price in print, you should follow good business practices. A bill of $160.00 for 2 people is overpriced when you are not totally satisfied which I was not. Being overcharged for something should never happen. The server, Nikki, was great but the cooking of Filets and pricing needs improvement!!!

I can't wait to go back. I miss the salad, dipping oil,and Charlene's chocolate martini's. Alfe's is definetly one of the best places I have ever dined.  Janie (3/17/2005)
Alfe's is the best, never had a bad meal. The waitstaff great. I go just for the scampi appetizer!

I love Alfe's! The food is delicious, I've never ordered anything which wasn't wonderful. Portions are generous and the wait staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The menu is extensive and varied, offering something for any culinary preference. My picky teens are always more than satisfied. The 1 1/2 hour drive is inconsequential as far as I'm concerned. Highly recommended!
