I consider myself a sandwich connoisseur, and let me tell you Subs & Such makes the best subs on the Island and possibly best in New Jersey, and I would even go as far to say on a good day the best I have ever had. They serve fresh cut to order Boars head cold cuts. The sub bread is standard fair but brought in fresh daily. Aside from the quality meats the thing they do best is sandwich construction…perfect amount of condiments not to much or to little (ex: mayo, salt pepper, oregano, onions, tom etc..all fresh obviously) and of course NO HOT DOG STYLE SUBS. Nothing gets me angrier when a sub has the meat on the right side and the condiments on the left; they make damn sure that never happens. The other stuff (cheese steaks, meatball subs, macaroni salads, coleslaw, salads) is decent but nothing special. Again though, come midday and you’re on the island looking for a sandwich there is no place to go but Subs & Such. After that I recommend you stop by Hudson House which is up the street towards the beach for a drink.
