One of the worst hotels I have ever been to. Floor was filthy. All sheets and pillows were stained with black. Dead bugs in the drawers. All furniture was chipped, including toilet and bath tub. Beds were just matress and wheeled base and squeeked loudly when sat on. Door had bubbled paint on the outside and on the inside the wood was shredded and peeled out. We could see outside through the edges where the wood had chipped. Exposed wood of mason board under windows which left gaps so bugs could just crawl in. Blinds were broken and missing parts leaving no sense of privacy whatsoever as someone could just look right in if they wanted to. Woman at front desk was pleasant but not helpful once we actually got there. She was very helpful over the phone though. This place was such a dump that we began to wander looking for a new place. Luckily we found The Surf Motel right behind it which was FANTASTIC. Owner there was also very pleasant and helpful from the get go. We did not recieve our money back from the Avalon for the first night. The lady at the desk simply said she "understood" that we were not satisfied and we were out the door. No effort to help us out or find a way to accomodate us in any way. What a stinking dump! Do yourself a favor and check out the gem on the other side of the Avalon. Could not recommend this place to anyone.
