shellfish is the best restaurant, not only on lbi but on the whole jersey shore. i live on lbi and i go there every weekend for take=out. i've also known people to drive an hour, just for their lobster or scallops. it's not that fancy either, so you don't have to worry about dressing up. it's just a fun, casual restaurant. definatly a must go when visiting the shore!

I'm with Heather. I love this place and have for 15 years now, If you like scallops and have been disappointed in your local joints try them here. They're fresh off the boat and great any way they prepare them. It’s the only place I can order them now, I’m spoiled. Try a scallop melt, its very heavy for an appetizer so be prepared to share that one around the table, they don't take reservations and there’s usually about a half hour wait to be seated. Go around 5:00PM if you want too avoid this (not much later). BYOB and no steaks Marrie. Joana (4/20/2006)

I agree with Heather. I love the shellfish restaurant. Marrie must have been confused because the shellfish does not serve steak. It's all seafood.I can't wait to go back there this summer.  marrie callahan (11/2/2005)
this place was horrible. I got a steak and asked for it to be medium and it came well done. The waitress didn't fill up my drink untill i had to ask her and the overall atmosphere seemed poor

we absolutely love this restaurant. it's not fancy, therefore we can wear what we want. its byob (bring your our beer), which saves us a lot of money. the people are really nice, the service is good and the prices are great. i usually get a 1 lb lobster, a dozen steamed clams and an ear of corn and it only cost $17.99. i highly recommend this restaurant to any who would enjoy a very laid back atmosphere while eating awesome seafood!!! heather |
