Sergio de la Cruz (10/17/2004) We stayed here at Ascot Motel in Atlantic City for the first time in the weekend early Oct 2004 (Oct 1-2-3). Although I was offered a non-smoking room, it was not until I arrived to this place that I was told that all rooms smelled the same way like cigarrette smoke. Eventhough I asked to be moved to another room, it was still smelly, filthy. The rooms were filthy, beds were poorly disarray, walls peeling, humidity and smell all over around the room, bathroom and bathroom. Beds worn-out, smelly. The name of the Motel makes it seem like a friendly place, but the entire motel seems shady. Employees were unfriendly and unresponsive to my complaint. Except for a lady who has worked there many years. She seemeed sorry for what we were going through. Clients staying at the upper room were loud and fighting. Nothing was done about it. In the middle of the night 4AM, a pipe or else had broken from the bathroom at upper room causing an enormous leak and water started flooding our room. Water flowing right through the electrical light at the ceiling. It started flikering. Management would not call the Fire House nor Police. They prefered to wait for the Manager. I had to call Fire and Police men to advice of the serious fire hazard. We lost personal items. They said that hte people staying at the room upstairs were "drunk as skunks". The manager who arrived almost three hours later at about 7AM did not adknowlwdge the seriousness of this experience. Argued to not refund the two-day stay at this horrible, filthy, unfriendly place. I'm yet to get the Police Report so I can at least claim my lost items at this mess. Please tell everyone you know about this. If you would like to comfirm this statement, get a copy from the Atlantic City Fire and Police Dept of Sunday Oct 3.
(7/10/2004) needs to be upgraded. the rooms are sadly painted and the furnishings are just plain old. the color schemes are not today or yesterday. not to be prejudice but, gypsy or poorly chosen. couldn't wait to leave.
